Hybrid working

MGEN (Mutuelle Générale d'Éducation Nationale), a French mutual health insurance company owned by VYV Group, employs 10,000 people across France. The heart of the organisation is based in Paris, close to the Gare Montparnasse.

It was following the departure of one of its tenants from the building that the mutual decided to start the renovation of the entire site of 25,000m2. All employees across two buildings are now centralised in the new office. A wish of MGEN was to implement hybrid working to give the employees the space to perform at their best.

Flexible and sustainable office

The head office has been completely redesigned and now welcomes employees in large open spaces organised by project. Classic offices separated by partition walls have given way to open, flexibly configurable spaces. Employees can now find a spot and move around as desired on all 16 floors. And they are allowed to work 2 days per week at home.

The building aims to achieve OSMOZ certification. For the office furniture, MGEN set the BIFMA M7.1 sustainability guideline as a requirement. All Ahrend products meet this standard. It was a very important requirement for this project.

Comfortable and acoustic

According to project manager Fabienne Pommier, Ahrend was able to meet all requirements for a comfortable and acoustic environment: 'We delivered all 1,100 desks from the Ahrend Balance collection, fixed with sliding tops (request from the IT department), or sit-stand with acoustic screens. The Techo lockers with specific dimensions for each user. The TEAM meeting tables are suitable for any setting: different dimensions and leg design, standard and high. Root collection with wooden legs for a warm atmosphere. And different chairs for the various areas: Well, Ease and Sqala chairs. They do not only offer seating comfort and ergonomic support, but also have an elegant appearance.'

Warm and natural 

All floors have a harmonious and warm feeling. Ahrend applied colours which are in line with the specifications by adding details such as tabletops with wooden edges and brick-coloured seats.

The employees are enthusiastic about the new interior. They love to work together in this peaceful hybrid environment.
